Great Water Sports For Holiday

It is worth making sure that the company that you do any water sports with is totally legitimate and they have all the right insurances that are required. To check this just visit the local tourist office where ever you are and they will have a list of legitimate providers.

What we will outline below is 5 of the most popular water sports that are offered by most holiday destinations when travelling abroad.

Water Skiing

Water skiing is a really cool water sport to get into and can be a lot of fun especially when you start being able to find your balance and stand up easily. Getting to this point is not always easy and can take a little while to achieve but if you stick with it you can have a great time.

Jet Ski’s

These do not require quite as much skill or balance as water skiing does however they can be really fun to use. These can be an excellent way to see the coastline and do a little bit of exploring effortlessly, while offering a nice adrenaline rush to those who enjoy the speed that jet skis offer.

Para Sailing

This is definitely a sport to have a go at in the late afternoon because you can see the entire coastline and see very far into the distance. The reason it is best to go in the afternoon is because any earlier and the sun can be a bit too intense which can ruin the peaceful gliding that takes place above the ocean.

Banana Boat

This is a classic water sport that is packed with fun and speed. So if you are after something simple to do that doesn’t require any lessons then this is the water sport for you. All you really need to do is to remember to hang on tightly!

Wakeboarding

This is a water surface sport and it involves riding a wakeboard over the surface of the water behind a speed boat. This is reportedly supposed to be slightly easier that water skiing and so it might be the sport to choose if you are unsure of water skiing.

How To Be Cost Conscious On Holiday

So with it being such an expensive time for people, we have decided to put a list together of a few tips and tricks on how to get the best possible deal. We have wrote these for a holiday to Majorca in the summer months so it will be a beach holiday in peak season.

  1. When going away you should get all your essentials before you go so that means your toiletries, sun cream, sun glasses etc. The reason is because if you go to discount stores in the UK, you can find bargain prices for most of these items. Sun cream is especially cheaper over in the UK than in a hot country because they know that is a very much needed product and so charge more and unfortunately you don’t have much of an option unless you want to get very sun burned.
  2. Have a list of holiday clothes that you need before you go out shopping so that you don’t start impulse buying which is a big mistake many people make. You want to have as much money to spend on holiday as possible and not have lots of clothes that you don’t really need. If you are going to a hot destination then all you need is a few pairs of swimming shorts, a few light t-shirts, some flip flops, some shirts and trousers for the evening and that’s about it. Remember that after your holiday, many of the clothes you buy won’t be used until next holiday.
  3. Try to have a budget for each day when on holiday so that you can keep your holiday money for as long as possible. The biggest mistake is to spend to much in the first few days because then you are worrying about your budget for the rest of the holiday. This isn’t to suggest you need to be ‘tight’ or anything like that. Just try to plan roughly how much you will spend each day on food, drinks, ice cream etc and you should be able to work out how much you need.
  4. Picking a good hotel is essential to having a good holiday so that you have clean rooms, air conditioning that works and good bar / restaurant. To find the best deal you will want to book you Majorca hotel in advance and you will want to be looking on the internet as that is where the best deals are. By searching in Google and typing ‘ hotel Majorca ‘ you should get a nice list of good quality hotels from that.

Setting Your Goals for Retiring to Mexico

When making a Resolution about Retiring to Mexico it is very important to set goals and follow them, step by step to reach your desired destination. If you are planning to move to Mexico upon retirement, you really need to make a list of steps to take in advance, so that you are ready when the time arrives. Moving to Mexico, full time or part time requires working through these steps to avoid making costly mistakes along the way.

My Wife and I live part time in Mexico and part time in the United States. At first, we had planned to sell our home in Wisconsin and move to Mexico. We were fleeing the Ice cold winters, but soon found that when it is winter in Wisconsin, it was summer in Mexico, and vice versa. The answer, have a home in both places and avoid the weather extremes. We started to investigate and the answers we found might surprise you. It can be done comfortably with a limited budget and proper planning.

Here is a list of things to consider when setting your Resolution to Retire to Mexico; following it will help insure a happy ending to your quest.

First and Foremost, Location, Location, Location. You need to know where you will like to live. Mexico, like any other country, has many different areas, each offering something unique to that area. You could start with a map, try to get a general idea of the area you are interested in, and then do some on line research.

A. You can get year round weather maps of the area on the internet, does it offer what you are looking for.

B. Find out if there are other retired people from your country, People you might like to get to know.

C. How accessible it is to the rest of the world, will you be able to travel in and out year round.?

D. Is there a good Hospital in the area?

After you have picked a general area of interest, you should make a resolution to visit your area of interest during your vacation, spend as much time as you can there. If possible, split your vacation into two parts. Visit the location during their summer months and again during their winter months. We picked the Puerto Vallarta area for many reasons. We both like the coast and the Pacific coast has a lot less Hurricanes that the Gulf of Mexico.(gulp) There is a year round International Airport so that we can get in and out at will. Puerto Vallarta has three major Hospitals with doctors and staff fluent in English, and the area also has a Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Costco, WalMart and all the other stores available if we need something from the states.

Retirement to Mexico, where the cost of living is 30 less that in the USA is a dream of many but a nightmare for others. For it to be a success, you must make a resolution to plan in advance, work at it,step by step, and be sure before you go. There is much to learn ahead of the move. Keep in mind, that you are moving from your country, with your laws, to their country, with their laws.So get some books, and if possible a couple of Mexican friends to tell you about life where they come from, and prepare in advance. The food will be different. The language is different. While most Mexicans can speak some English in tourist area, you will find that a little Spanish o your part will be very helpful.
